Website Traffic
The question every website owner faces is "How do I get visitors to my site?" With over 100 million websites to choose from, why would anyone visit your site? There's a whole lot more to it than just inserting a few keywords into your web pages. Creating and uploading your site is just the beginning of your online presence.
There are many techniques you can use to drive traffic to your site, but probably the two most important concepts to grasp are that you need to have something on your site that makes it worth visiting, and revisiting, and closely related to that are incoming links.
Incoming links are links from other websites to your site. When Google sees a lot of other sites linking to yours, they conclude that your site must be important and place you higher in the search engine results. Blogs, forums, social networking sites, Youtube, etc. are all good sources for incoming links.
Take a look at the following article I created, with information about website traffic and suggestions for how to increase the number of visitors to your site.
