Joomla vs Drupal vs Wordpress

Those are the three most popular CMS systems. Although Wordpress began life as a blogging platform, over the past few years it has been utilized by some developers as a complete website solution. However it still doesn't have all the capabilities of a full CMS, such as Joomla or Drupal.

Why did VWeb choose Joomla over Drupal?

Joomla is the most widely-used CMS for a reason. Although it is very powerful, it is also reasonably easy to learn, for developers as well as end-users. The name "Joomla" came from a Swahili word that means "all together" or "as a whole." Joomla was designed from the start to be a community effort. There is a huge worldwide community of developers and support behind the product.

W3Tech analyzed the top one million websites and determined that Joomla was used on 2.5% of those million sites, compared to Drupal's 1.5% usage.

 

Can't I Just Create My Own Website?

You can find many free website builders online, however think about the following things if you're considering that approach.

• Joomla is the most widely used content management system on the internet. That means continuing updates, new features, and security fixes.
• Over 7,000 Joomla addon components are available, allowing you to expand your site with about any feature you can imagine.
• Joomla has built-in functionality for user logins, allowing you to restrict areas of your website based on login information.
• A Joomla expert will be able to create a custom design for your site that matches your company's look, logo, color scheme, etc. That will be difficult to achieve on your own with a basic site builder.
• You run the risk of an amateurish-looking website, which will reflect badly on your business.
• Joomla is designed to be search engine friendly and has additional search engine optimization components.
• Joomla will grow and adapt as the internet world changes. A smaller, less popular website builder will likely stagnate and then you may find yourself stuck with a site/design that won't keep up with the latest internet trends.
• If you work with a joomla developer, you will have a resource to provide ongoing help and support if something goes wrong or you just need a little help from time to time.
